Finally, it is time for your vacation! All airport goers are keen to get to their destination as soon as possible and this can make the airport experience stressful. Luckily, I have some tips on how you can enjoy the very start of your holiday at the airport and the flight to your destination.
Airport tips:
1. Stock up on snacks! Personally, this is an essential step for me as I always want to have something to snack on. Short flight? a kind nut bar will do. Long haul flight? Crisps are essential for in-flight movie watching, more nutty bars, a big bottle of water, and sweets such as jolly ranchers to help any ear pain on the plane's descent and obviously just to enjoy during the flight
2. Have some time on your hands? Why not go duty-free and buy a new perfume or aftershave. Every so often I decide to buy a new scent and then for the rest of my holiday I wear it. This means when you return home you have a specific scent that reminds you of your happy holiday. You are welcome!
3. People watch. Airports are an ideal place to people watch. Try to guess where people are heading to, do they look businessy or vacation ready?
4. Are your essential travel documents on your phone? Print them anyway. Travelling has undeniably gotten more complicated since the Covid-19 pandemic. Certain countries expect to see proof of vaccination or a negative covid test. Be on the safe side and print your essential documents as a backup.
Flight tips:

Congrats you made it on the correct plane! Now relax, I have some more tips on what you can do to take full advantage of your in-flight experience
1. Drink water!! Ok, this one is a bit boring but I can't stress it enough. Your body gets dehydrated on an aeroplane so drink up
2. TV series recommendations to binge on a flight- Modern Family, Friends, the US Office, Life in Pieces, Selling Sunset (basically a list of my all-time favourite series)
3. Take a walk. After a few hours, you can feel cramped up, go for a stroll around the plane and stretch your legs
4. Start your travel journal. If you haven't already, plan out a loose itinerary for your vacation. When I am on a long-haul flight I find it helpful to think of the destination and what I will do when I am there. This helps you get excited and stops you from counting down the hours until you land
5. Try nap. I always take an eye mask and my soundproof headphones to help me settle down for a nap

6. Eat those snacks. I always look forward to eating my snacks on the plane and watching a TV series undisturbed. Heaven!
7. Brush your teeth. If you feel like you need refreshed brushing your teeth and washing your face on a long-haul flight can make the world of difference.
I hope these tips give you some inspiration for your next visit to the airport. It is so important to enjoy every second of your trip even if it is just soaking in the airport vibes!
